Of all types of forests, urban forests are the ones cities can most easily influence – and they have good reason to do so. Urban forests and green spaces can have many benefits for resident health and wellbeing, such as keeping cities cool, improving air quality, protecting cities against flooding, and advancing equity and safety.
Cities4Forests creates analyses, mapping, guidance, and other city-specific resources to help city leaders understand their urban forest landscape and the changes that could benefit their residents. We also inform strategies, regulations, and other policies to enact those changes in a thoughtful and equitable way.
