Natural Infrastructure for Water in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte

Natural infrastructure offers many opportunities to improve water quality and create other benefits for metropolitan areas. Cities4Forests has developed a methodology to help cities identify investment opportunities for natural infrastructure that will benefit their utilities and residents.

The study focuses on identifying the best uses of ecosystem services to avoid sedimentation and its impacts on water supply in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Additionally, it makes proposals on how and where natural infrastructure can promote benefits for low-income populations in the territory.
