Laura Azeredo
Senior Finance and Urban Economics Analyst, WRI Brasil
Laura Azeredo works at WRI Brasil as a Senior Finance and Urban Economics Analyst. She works with local governments and the national government, focusing on financing sustainable urban projects to transform Brazilian cities by making them more resilient and inclusive. She also works on the implementation of urban policies, including land value capture strategies and fiscal and extra-fiscal mechanisms at the local level. Laura leads the technical work at the Nature-Based Solutions Accelerator for Cities, an initiative in partnership with Cities4Forests that catalyzes the development, financing, and implementation of 10 sustainable urban projects in Brazil.
Laura holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She holds a specialist degree in Strategic Management of Urban Territory from Unisinos and an inter-university degree from Ecole d’Urbanisme de Paris in partnership with the Institut d’Amenagement et d’Urbanisme d’Ile-de-France. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the post-graduate program in Public Policy at UFRGS.
