One million tree planting campaign gaining momentum
The National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop’s “One Million Trees” campaign in the city is gaining new ground through extended partnerships and initiatives. Thousands of trees have been planted throughout parts of the city since its launch last year. The power walk team under the active city development program in collaboration with the Port Moresby Nature Park has begun the NCDC “Trees for Life” initiative which was launched by Mr Parkop and other dignitaries along Sivari Road in Gerehu on Tuesday. One hundred trees were planted along the power walk route from Baruni Road to the Port Moresby Technical College.
