Ethiopia Researcher, WRI Africa
Meseret is a Cities4Forests Ethiopia Researcher for WRI Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He works with the Cities4Forests and Global Restoration Initiative teams to engage the public and private sectors to facilitate the flow of finance to trees and forests in rural and urban settings in Ethiopia.
Prior to joining WRI, Meseret worked as a Business and Value Chain Program Manager at Dan Church Aid. He led private sector engagement initiatives while promoting agribusiness and creating market access for smallholder farmers. He was the focal person for a Sustainable Food Platform project in Ethiopia and created an active network for collaboration between SFP and the Commission of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Meseret holds a B.Sc in Plant Sciences from Haramaya University and a M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from St. Mary’s University in Addis Ababa. He lives in Addis Ababa.
