Iman Abubaker

Ethiopia Researcher, WRI Africa

Iman is a Cities4Forests Ethiopia Researcher for WRI Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She works in coordination with other BIGRS partners as well as the city government to support and research on road safety and sustainable transport solutions in Addis Ababa.

Prior to joining WRI, Iman worked part-time as a Business Case Developer for SYSTRA, an international engineering and consulting company. Her work consisted of liaising with different government offices to track progress of ongoing projects and researched new opportunities for Systra to participate in.

Iman holds a M.S in Environment, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex. Her thesis examined the nature of Chinese investment in Africa particularly looking at the Addis Ababa-Djibouti rail and the potential economic, social and environmental impacts.

Iman lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and enjoys the 13 months of sunshine!
