Watch the highlight video

Cities are at the vanguard of global climate action. Trees and forests offer cities an underutilized approach for climate action while also protecting human health, biodiversity, and water resources collectively offering greater disaster resilience. Whether through increasing tree canopy in urban areas, improving green infrastructure in and around cities, or protecting and maintaining global forests, cities are increasingly integrating nature-based solutions into their planning and policies. This side event will share insights gained from Cities4Forests into the role local authorities are playing in improving forest awareness, management and conservation.
